You do not need to write a paragraph, but make sure you answer the question fully in a way that shows your understanding of the reading.
We will be using the information from this section for a class discussion this week, so mine for answers (scanning the page until you find part of the question and copying down whatever the book says without thinking much about it) at your own risk! (A Note: Columbus is the name of the man who sailed the ocean blue in 1492; Colombia is a country in the northern part of South America, where Central America connects. They are spelled differently.)

Chimamanda Adichie is an author who grew up in Nigeria and came to the United States when she attended college. She gave a TEDtalk to share her experiences interacting with literature and the effect that stories had on peoples' understanding of the world around them. In 2008 she was awarded the MacArthur Genius Grant for her writing. |
